Located within the East Village in Manhattan, MNLA designed an intricate pair of outdoor spaces as part of three new infill rental buildings known as EVGB. Views from the main terrace offers stunning south views with amenities that include tiered wood seating for social gatherings, shade pavilions for alfresco dining, fire pits and a wet bar. For those more inclined to physical activity, the terrace features a bocce court, putting green, resident gardens, an outdoor workout area and showers, as well as a lawn for yoga classes.
Fifty-two of the 150 units have private backyards, gracious balconies or terraces. Contiguous backyards are designed as a sinuous landscape that visually unite the private spaces from above yet offer unique spaces for each unit. The articulated façade reveals lush plantings at multiple balcony levels to signal the green identity of these buildings on a main thoroughfare. Fifty of the units within the buildings are affordable.
