The Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey called on MNLA to re-envision the exterior programming of its campus. The resulting comprehensive plan is being used to guide enhancements related to the exterior sculpture program and establishes a landscape framework for the creation of new plazas and informal gathering spaces.

Proposed improvements solidify the visual identity of this highly respected arts institution and greatly expand opportunities for dynamic outdoor events and programming. The sloped site is reimagined and developed to artfully integrate a rich program of uses into this modest-sized, downtown cultural campus.

The phased approach to implementation recognizes the immediate institutional needs and the desire for future diversification of the campus while providing a sound vision from which it may build additional support. The master plan allows the museum to further enhance the role of this cultural destination in the Montclair community.
