MNLA has been working with Pratt Institute for over 35 years which has resulted in multiple projects on campus at different sizes and scales.

Thanks to a generous gift from a Pratt alumnus, Newman Mall creates an impromptu gathering area for students. The arcing, terraced seats derive from the axis and shape formed by existing stairs that lead to an historic courtyard. Multi-stem and flowering trees with underplantings of perennials are placed in curved bands like ripples in a pond, gradually dispersing from the center axis. Sited to take advantage of the midday sun, the centrally located space is a major place of congregation during lunch break and between classes.
