MNLA’s design for a dog run and school garden located on an underutilized parcel of parkland is a successful example of a public-private partnership among a developer, NYC School Construction Authority, and NY State Parks. Separation of uses is accomplished by a grove of trees that provides shade and visual buffer between the dog run and outdoor classroom.  Dogs frolic in a gravel surfaced enclosure while children learn about urban agriculture.
